I love all the Christmas goodies. My favorite to make is Cranberry Tea, a recipe I received over 20 yrs. ago from a gal at church. There is'nt any "tea" in it. I use sugar substitute unstead of sugar. It's easy to make, if anyone would like the recipe let me know. Linda

Yes, Linda, please include your recipte for cranberry tea . . any recipes are welcome.
Nothing exotic though, it would be wasted on me, I'm a basic kind of person.

TURDUCKEN!
We live in Louisiana and I am practical all year, trying to be frugal and eat relatively healthy. There isn't much I indulge in; however, I was given a gift certificate one year to a local meat specialty store. I didn't know what to purchase, so I ask for their recommendation. It was a turducken. A turkey stuffed with a boneless duck, boneless chicken, and pork dressing. So, now when I am preparing my budget for the holidays I always add my turducken to the list.
Thoughts and Prayers,
Lori

This is a very important topic for me. I agree wholeheartedly that we are at the mercy of Doctors and health care personell whom are driven by third party influences. I refuse to use or put my children on any antibiotics unless absolutely necessary and I know it is because of this that they are generally healthier than most other kids.Vaccinations are not always necessary and we are very selective about vaccinating. I use as many natural products as possible..It is so important to educate ourselves, for the good of our children, and look outside the box.
We are our childrens only advocates, we should challenge anyone who says that unnatural, man made toxins, are good or safe to put on our skin, breathe in and ingest. We are slowly depleting our natural abilities to fight off infections. We are watching autoimmune diseases rise and preventable illnesses take over. We are simply becoming lazier and lazier. We want someone to tell us what we should do, what to fear, and how to live our lives. This is how pharmaceutical companies have made their stake in our society.
"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."-Howard Thurman

Swine Flu
Posted by: "Carrie Schillinger" carrieschillinger@yahoo.com carrieschillinger
Tue Nov 10, 2009 7:04 am (PST)
My husband came home about 2 months ago with swine flu or I think he did. He was only down for 3 days. He had all the symtoms but didn't want to see a doctor. He said he didn't feel sick enough to see a doctor. Then as soon as he was getting over it, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had the high fever, cough and weakness. It took me a week before I broke down and saw a doctor. He said that I tested positive for flu, but that I had waited so long that it turned into walking pneumonia. I couldn't breathe well for the longest time. All in all, it took me about 3 weeks to get over it. My 13 year old daughter never even caught a sniffle. I should be glad about that.
The government dropped the ball, big time, on this one. By the time the vaccine becomes available for the public in general, everyone will have had some form of this. I don't intend to get the shot because now I know I've got the antibodies for it. I feel for the families that have lost loved ones to this, but it's just like any other flu. Alot of people have gotten sick and have recovered on their own without a shot. Scare tactics like anything else these days has to be left up to the individual and how comfortable they feel about their health. Nobody's system is the same and a one shot for all the masses can't be safe for everyone. Biomedications are the wave of the future but at such a high cost, only few could afford and the health insurance more than likely won't cover.
It's all a roll of the dice when it comes to your health and you are the only one that will have to listen to and make your own assumptions on what you will or won't do for it.

Pediatric dentist will not see kids until they are 3 years of age and most dentist will not see them until they are 3. It is still a good idea to get some insurance Just in case of a dental emergency.

It is highly preferred that they visit by the first birthday. For some, that get a lot of teeth in early, even earlier than that is ok too. So, yes, I would get him signed up ASAP.

Does he have teeth yet? If so then he should already be seeinga dentist. As children get their first tooth they should begin seeing a dentist. It helps to insure healthy teeth throughout the rest of their lives.
