Re: [Everything doTERRA] cats

The only oil I've heard of is Melaluca as far as not giving to cats but I don't know if that applies to DoTerra oils.  Tamalu has some info on pets and oils and I haven't checked that out yet - soooo busy and not enough hours in the day!

Thanks Kathy. The Wild Orange was what I was concerned about... so if it works for your cats, I guess it's going to be good for mine.

OnGuard has
Cinnamon, Clove Bud, Eucalyptus Radiata, Rosemary, Wild Orange
I used it in a ratio of 1:1 with coconut oil (or olive oil I also use)

Wow, Kathy, how much On Guard did you use and what was the dilution ratio? I have a cat that has been losing weight, but he smells the oils on me all the time and sits on my lap, up close to me when I have breath or eucalyptus on. Some oils I know are not good for cats, and I have always been very cautious about the citrus oils. Doesn't on guard have citrus oils? So that is why I am very interested in how much On Guard you used, and how much FCO you mixed with it.

For all of you reading Kathy's email about her kittens. She does not have regular kittens she has thouroubreds, that sell all over the country for thousands of dollars. She is an amazing breeder and if she is using the oils for these priceless kittens, you better believe they are working.

Just some info - I am a very small cat breeder (sandhollowsavannahs.com) and I had 4 kittens earlier this year.  It is very common for them to get upper respitory problems as kittens and then there is FIP - a fatal virus that comes from the Corona virus and if a cat gets FIP it is always fatal.

I had 4 kittens, 1 got sick before I was doing the oils, he started losing weight and was not growing, and he died.  I had 3 left, 2 got goopy eyes which is very common, I signed up with DoTerra and had On Guard essential oil so I tried it on their paws, within a few days they were better.  One female I never did put On Guard on.  They are now almost 5 months old, the one female I never put On Guard on died of FIP - a very contagious virus, no one else has been sick - can't prove anything but if the Corona Virus was killed by the On Guard then this is huge - cats won't get FIP if their immune systems are strong enough and if On Guard kills the virus then I would say this is a cure to a fatal virus known as FIP.  There is no way to know for sure but if the other 2 cats did not get On Guard on their paws - I believe they would have died also.  This is just something I am watching - I don't have the facilities to test this but will be using On Guard on all my kittens and the mothers before they give birth!

  1. What do you suggest for cat with mange - also tends to be nervouse/needy - scratching self and chewing on paws to point of leaving marks of blood on objects comes in contact with. I was thinking to maybe try balance on the sores and pads, thyme in catfood, and terrashild in case there's mites as I'm not seeing lice or other insects. By the way, there's a second cat that isn't experiencing any of these issues, so I'm guessing maybe not mites cuz both would have? But this one cat really is determined to create and enlarge these sores and that does make me think insect........
