Hello wonderful Mothers:
My son is 14 months. Can you please share with me at what age he needs a dentist? We are about to enroll in the health insurance (held every year); hence we are not sure if he should be part of Dental or until a year from now.
Many thanks,
Blessings and light :)

Does he have teeth yet? If so then he should already be seeinga dentist. As children get their first tooth they should begin seeing a dentist. It helps to insure healthy teeth throughout the rest of their lives.

It is highly preferred that they visit by the first birthday. For some, that get a lot of teeth in early, even earlier than that is ok too. So, yes, I would get him signed up ASAP.

Tip - Naturally Clean Fireplace Soot
Posted by: "hmlobback" hmlobback@yahoo.com hmlobback
Mon Nov 9, 2009 6:23 am (PST)
If your fireplace's brick surface is marred by a thick layer of soot,
here's one nontoxic way to deal with it. Just mix up an ounce of soap
with an ounce of table salt. Mix with enough water to make a cream and
then rub it onto the brick's surface with a cloth. After 15 minutes,
scrub with a stiff brush. It requires some elbow grease, but it will
help cut the soot!

I also agree. If you listen very carefully to all the drug adds on television with their side effects why would anyone one want to take any of them. I prefer to take herbal medications.

I love all the Christmas goodies. My favorite to make is Cranberry Tea, a recipe I received over 20 yrs. ago from a gal at church. There is'nt any "tea" in it. I use sugar substitute unstead of sugar. It's easy to make, if anyone would like the recipe let me know. Linda

Hi Gayle,
All of our children are grown, we have 8 grandkids. I also quilt, sew and do a little crocheting(made one of the granddaughter's a scarf and hat while I was in NY babysitting while her mother, grandmother and aunt were on a 2 week cruise.) I've tried alot of different crafts, but right now my main one is quilting. It's always good to meet a fellow quilter. We live in a small burg in Iowa.

Hi, I joined here recently. My name is Gayle. I'm a SAHM to 3 boys Joseph 7, Cole 5, & Taw 19 months, & wife to Andrew Jackson. We have lived in Maeser (right next to Vernal) Utah for over 8 years, still renting the same place which for the past 2 weeks has had a serious mouse infestation. .. yuck!
We live frugally but comfortably on one income, though I am always open to hearing others' stories & ideas from frugal and thrifty living. I also like trying out new recipes, though my family doesn't always enjoy the results.
Besides my children, I enjoy gardening in season, crocheting, sewing, quilting, and lately blogging (agjacksonfamily. blogspot. com). I DO NOT enjoy housework & trying to plan meals!
There's a few things that I am a big advocate of: Food Storage, frugal living, saving money (not that much gets saved at my house these days), Humanitarian giving, canning & preserving the harvest, and a few others that I can't think of just now. I do think that everyone should take any advantage of learning new things, because you never know when you might need that knowledge; I want to learn how to make soap from scratch, not just those melt & pour bars -- I did it once in high school chemistry class but that was over 17 years ago.
Hmm... that's probably more than enough about me for now, though I'm sure that more will come out later - I can be quite gabby when I get started.
=) Gayle
