My favorite part is seeing others with their gifts. I also love to take baked goods around, like to my mom's work. You sound like you get excited about Christmas like I do. My husband says that I stll believe in Santa. Hope your Holidays are Great & You have a Merry Christmas.

I would say I spoil everyone else and my indulgence would be watching everyone get their Christmas presents and the decorating. I love all my lights and decorating the whole house. Can't wait to take out all my clearance buys from last year and see how they look and work.

Thanks! I think I will see about getting them involved in activities...I think a lot of her problem is laziness and this will help with this! And the after dinner personalized help I think is JUST what she needs!
Thanks so much for responding!

I have 3 girls, the oldest 2 are 11 & 14. Both do extra activities, soccer, dance, band, etc. They also both love games, computers & talkin/texting on the phone. The main thing is they have to keep their grades up to do any of these things or they lose privileges. I think they try alot harder then. I went thru this with my older one before she started doing anything. Now I dont even have to say anything she just gets it done. Also when she needed help we would right after school or right after everyone went to bed.. She may get a few mins less sleep, but the personalized extra attention might be just what she needs.

When my boys were that age what worked for us was to have different colored folders for each subject, ex: math was blue, English was green, etc… I t seemed to help them for some reason.
Also, when it came to homework we would pick a subject, do it then play for a bit then back to work, ex; math till finished, then 15 minutes of play then English, etc…took a bit longer to get homework done but it helped.
Good luck

Hello!!
I have a 9 year old and 7 year old girl, 4th and 2nd grade. They seem to be having trouble (more the 9 year old) with keeping their binders and homework and school papers organized. I have helped her clean it out but she just pushes everything in there and crumbles it all up.
She is also behind on her homework. She feels overwhealmed and I dont know what to do to help her!
I sit down with her at home but I have three other kids ( 5 year old twins) to take care of, dinner etc...
Is there something that you have tried or do you have any suggestions to help her excel in her school work and ease some of her stress?
Thanks!!!

Hi moms,
Since we've got several thousand members, it isn't feasible to keep re-stating our locations each time a new member posts. Just one introduction is sufficient. :)
Adding yourself to our moms map makes it easier to find moms who live close to you:
http://groups.yahoo.com/ group/mompowergr oup/app/peoplema p
Please do that instead of re-stating location - thanks!
