When my boys were that age what worked for us was to have different colored
folders for each subject, ex: math was blue, English was green, etc. I t
seemed to help them for some reason.
Also, when it came to homework we would pick a subject, do it then play for
a bit then back to work, ex; math till finished, then 15 minutes of play
then English, etc.took a bit longer to get homework done but it helped.
Good luck

Subject: [mompowergroup] Homework/organizational help for my daughter(s)
Hello!!
I have a 9 year old and 7 year old girl, 4th and 2nd grade. They seem to be
having trouble (more the 9 year old) with keeping their binders and homework
and school papers organized. I have helped her clean it out but she just
pushes everything in there and crumbles it all up.
She is also behind on her homework. She feels overwhealmed and I dont know
what to do to help her!
I sit down with her at home but I have three other kids ( 5 year old twins)
to take care of, dinner etc...
Is there something that you have tried or do you have any suggestions to
help her excel in her school work and ease some of her stress?
Thanks!!!

I have 3 girls, the oldest 2 are 11 & 14. Both do extra activities, soccer, dance, band, etc. They also both love games, computers & talkin/texting on the phone. The main thing is they have to keep their grades up to do any of these things or they lose privileges. I think they try alot harder then. I went thru this with my older one before she started doing anything. Now I dont even have to say anything she just gets it done. Also when she needed help we would right after school or right after everyone went to bed.. She may get a few mins less sleep, but the personalized extra attention might be just what she needs. I hope this helps.
Take Care & Good Luck,
Jody

My name is Kim Morrison. I live in Ellabell Georgia (between Savannah and Statesboro). I'm married with 2 children ages 22 and 23. I have 3 grandchildren, 7 months, 4 yrs and 5 yrs old.
I joined this group to be a part of the wonderful atmosphere and sharing. My husband works in Iraq and the group helps me stay in touch with people while he's away.
I work from home as a remote agent. If anyone is interested the name of the company is Cloud 10 Corp. There are certain requirements to work from home but it's well worth it. It's not a scam but a real job and it's awesome to work from home and, in my case, in my PJ's (I work from 5pm til midnite)
We have 3 dogs, 2 GS and my little Imperial Shih Tzu.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Day!

Hello everyone!
I'm new to the group and I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself! I'm a mature 22 year old as I like to call myself, because I cook/bake, clean, take care of the family, and go to school at night. I've been married for almost two years now to a truly amazing man! We have an almost one year old, (turning one on november 12th), baby boy who is just the light of our lives! Since I got married and gave birth to our son, I've lost a lot of friends (they're all into the party scene, and our idea of a night out is going to blockbuster)! my husband thought it might be a good idea for me to join a "mom" group of some sort! So...I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
Sincerely,
Christina

Hello All,
I would like to know if anyone knows of where I can purchase North Face Winter Coats for less than they are sold on the actual North Face website? I want the real coat, not a knock off. I have three girls that I need to purchase a coat for.
Also, does anyone know of any good "Black Friday" sales?
I thank you in advance for your guidance. Have a splendid day!
Thanks!

TURDUCKEN!
We live in Louisiana and I am practical all year, trying to be frugal and eat relatively healthy. There isn't much I indulge in; however, I was given a gift certificate one year to a local meat specialty store. I didn't know what to purchase, so I ask for their recommendation. It was a turducken. A turkey stuffed with a boneless duck, boneless chicken, and pork dressing. So, now when I am preparing my budget for the holidays I always add my turducken to the list.
Thoughts and Prayers,
Lori

I have to agree with Kristie,
EGGNOG!!!!
I put it in my coffee....it's wonderful.
Also, baking cookies. It's my favorite thing to do during the holiday season. I can't bake just one kind...it's more like 10 or so. I get absolutely crazy in the kitchen when it comes to cookie baking.
Makes great gifts, as well.
