If its an excuse. Hey, her loss. But, maybe she just needs the numbers to jive in her mind and an example of how a little off the fast start isn't going to hurt her in the long run. I'd give her an example of someone who didn't sign up because of the $50, and how much you could have benefited over time if they had.
My husband is a numbers guy. he'd love to give you a spreadsheet example.
