Re: [Everything doTERRA] Morning Sickness

Dzen has a nutritional supplement box on it.  All the oils are GRAS. It is fine to use internally.  We have also recommended it's use, with great success I might add to expecting mothers.  Most publications will veer to the more cautious side.  If there is any question or controversy about an oil and pregnancy, a publication will list it as "consult your physician, but digest zen is fine.

In the Essential Oils for Maternity book from the Aroma Tools store, there's a chart titled Essential Oils Generally Regarded as Safe for Pregnancy with columns for each trimester. DigestZen is not listed in the book, but ginger, peppermint and lemon are all listed as oils to help with morning sickness. Ginger and peppermint have an * in the 1st trimester column however, indicating they are controversial, and lemon indicates it's for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Any thoughts on this? Where does the info contained in the AromaTools books come from?
Another question, would you use the oils as a preventative measure, or as you felt the symptoms of morning sickness coming on?
Thanks again for sharing your wealth of information!

Nausea points are wherever the strongest feeling is, the point of your neck, chest area or stomach. Just rub the DZ from the neck down to the stomach, you can put a drop under your tongue also. Ginger is good as is peppermint, if you are nursing you should not use the peppermint in the last trimester, it could weaken your milk supply. As long as you have DigestZen you should be fine.

At convention Dr Hill mentioned using DigestZen topically on the stomach and on the nausea points for morning sickness, but I have no idea where the nausea points are. I've also heard that ginger as well as pepperming are helpful, would they be used topically or internally? Any other tips for morning sickness would be appreciated. Barbara
