Re: [Everything doTERRA] Do EOs strip wood finishes?

You do have to be careful with the oils around plastic finishes because the plastic is a toxin and the oils will eat through it. So with that caution, I could see that you need to be cautious on wood finishes. I have a laminate wood flooring and I am very careful not to "spill" my oils. If it happens I am there to wipe it up right away. And yes, it will take your nail polish off. It's great if you run out of acetate remover...LOL! But yes, it can take some polish off. With anything, there are always areas you need to be careful about.

A friend told me that her Wintergreen oil spilled and took the finish
off of wood. She also said that some oils will remove nail polish. She
uses another brand of oils, not doTerra, but spoke as though this is
common safety issue. I have been studying and using oils for over a
year and have never heard about or seen this effect. Would love to
know if this is really true.
