Re: [Everything doTERRA] Digest for everythingdoterra@googlegroups.com - 25 Messages in 9 Topics

Hi Pat,
Do you know someone personally that has avoided knee surgery???  Mine are torn meniscus and arthritis in both knees.  At convention, Dr. Hill gave me those 3 oils too and told me to work on yeast  which I have had most of my life (over 50) years.  I also do the LLW and GX and PB assist plus diet.  I would love to visit with anyone who has avoided the surgery.

    Hi everyone,

Is the aroma that is emitted from the Aroma Ace diffuser any more
potent than the Lotus? I have a Lotus and honestly I have a difficult
time smelling the aroma from the mist if I'm not right next to it.
I'm currently using 6-8 drops of oil at a time. Is this too little?
I have a very good sense of smell, and some people say that many drops
of oil is too much for them. I can light a candle and have no problem
smelling the aroma, so I don't think it's me. I bought an inexpensive
diffuser at EarthFare several weeks ago that seems to work *somewhat*
better for the bedroom (I diffuse Serenity at night), but these days
I'm just putting a drop on my hand and then rubbing the pillow so I
get more of a potent aroma.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Blessings,

A friend doesn't have a diffuser and she asked if she could put her
oils in a Vick's vaporizer! I said I would check on it!

    Thanks for the help!

I have a sister who has done it and it worked, but not very well. She
would have better luck to mix oil and water in a spray bottle and
    spray it around the room.

I am brand new to this lifestyle and need lots of advice and tips and
    tricks!
I am a OCD about the cleanliness of my home, my car, etc...
Now that I am using doTerra oils for mine and my families health, it
doesn't seem to make much sense for me to be using a cabinet full of
    chemicals to clean our home.
I typically use 409, Mr Clean, Comet, and the Clorox cleaning wipes.
I also am OCD about the way things smell!
I need to walk into my home and have it smell lovely :)
I currently use Scentsy wax and warmers.
So I am looking for a way to use my oils as cleaning products? But
it's gotta really cut through the grime.
Also, any information about Scentsy? I know some candles and air
fresheners are unhealthy, but am I okay with Scentsy? Also, any
opinions on Seventh Generation products? I saw some at Walmart
yesterday and now I'm curious. I know this is a lot and Thank You in
    advance!!

I LOVE Lemon, On Guard, and Lavender for cleaning. If you have Modern
Essentials there is a small section that has a few recipes for
cleaning. I made some hand wipes with on guard and LOVE them. Used
them at a family reunion and didn't get any of the nasty colds that
    were going around.

I have heard of others using Citrus Bliss also. The Lemon in my
opinion works far better then some of the chemical cleaning products I
    have used in the past.

I have loved using the Seventh Generation products, but they were
super expensive (at the time- which was about 3 years ago) and so we
weren't able to replenish our stock. Now that Wal mart is selling them
I wonder if the cost has gone down? I don't remember the ingredients,
but with my allergies I found I could use the Seventh Generation
products without a problem. Learning what I have about EOs recently it
makes me want to re-evalute the SG products and see if they are just
as good/safe. You may even be able to add a couple drops to them?

Hubby and I are pretty anal about keeping a germ free home. We don't
like it when people come over sick and we don't like shaking peoples
hands, especially at church. I have severe allergies to chemicals and
have to be extremely careful with what we use. Up until a few months
ago I either cleaned dressed from head to toe in protective gear or
hubby did the cleaning. I HATED cleaning because if I wasn't careful I
would have an asthma attack or break out in hives and all that fun
    stuff.

As soon as I got lemon and lavender I began to use them for cleaning
and noticed a difference immediately! Our home smelled better. I could
breath and I had no negative reactions to the oils or smell. I now
make excuses for cleaning, even deep cleaning :) After using the
lavender for several weeks in a row as a carpet cleaner I noticed our
carpet looks cleaner, feels softer, and my asthma is back under
control. I love when we come home from being gone all day and it
    smells sooo nice.

If you do a search on cleaning I think you will find some different
tips and tricks and I think there are a few links to blogs with some
tips too. I got my on guard hand wipe recipe from a blog (can't
remember it at the moment.) Trial and Error is a fun way to go too :)

    Good Luck!

Yea! Never met anyone else who has icthyosis. My husband has it.
I'll tell you what's happening with him. I do use oils on him and
apply them whereever and it seems to work whereever I put it. He had
a motorcycle fall on his foot and sprained it BAD. I used deep blue
until it was no longer painful and then have been putting frankincense
on it to help it mend internally. It's still slightly swollen after 4
months. Each night I was rubbing frankincense on and around the ankle
bone, and then I put various daily oils on the bottoms of his feet.
One night he came to me and said "feel the skin on my lower leg". IT
WAS AS SMOOTH AS A BABIES BUTT!!!! Just on that leg and only to the
knee area. He usually has fish scale-type skin all over and it
sometimes dries out so bad it cracks and bleeds, especially on the
back of his calves. I currently can't afford to rub him head to toe
with frankincense, but I believe it was that one oil that did it.
This disease is a genetic specific to men passed through the girls.
So my daughters sons will have a chance of having it. His Uncle is a
dermatologist and very "western medicine" but I would like for him to
look at him now and tell me again there is nothing to do for it, like
he has said (and every other dermatologist we've been to) for the 26
years I've been married to him. Maybe we can run this by the panel of
questions session on Thursday night from 7-9. If you learn more,
    please let me know. Janet

    Hi Becca,
For bone on bone I would suggest she use Deep Blue for the pain, Lemongrass,
and Helichrysum for regenerating. I would put these three oils in a roller bottle and
put them on the knee area as often as possible during the day. In the evening when you
are settling down you need to put the blend on your knee area and cover it with a hot
moist towel, leave towel on until it cools off.
It is going to take a while (3-6 months), she will have success if she will be aggressive
    and consistent.

    Thanks,
    Pat

What could she use to help with the pain and is it possible to regrow

In the book "Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple" by Dr. David
Stewart, he as an index in the back which lists ALL kinds of plant
oils and the essential oil of marijuana is called Cannibinol (sp). He
lists the chemical constituents of the oil but no uses as it is
illegal. You can get his book at Amazon or Abundant Health.

Hemp oil is from the hemp plant which is slightly different from the
marijuana plant and the uses would be different as it comes I believe
from the seed which is a fatty oil.

Sugar, dairy, grains and soy are all triggers for eczema.  Avoid as
much as possible.  Helichrysum is on oil that would be helpful.  Be
sure to dilute with fco.  And she needs essential fatty acids.

I would for sure take her off dairy until you get this condition under control.
I think she is old enough to start taking the PB Assist, put it in some food and
see if she can take it. Just one a day should help.
You have to treat this inside to get the help on the skin. You will be able to tell
if you get her off dairy and also too much sugary foods.Using too many oils
isn't always the answer. When they are young you can use any oil but you do
    need to be cautious.
I would get a very mild organic lotion, when you apply lotion to her after a bath,
add a drop of Lavender and apply all over.

I always like giving them sliced or cubed avocados {lightly

plain with cottage cheese. Now's the perfect season for them.

(Remember teach them to like it while they're young cuz it's hard to

    be off dairy right now.

I always like giving them sliced or cubed avocados {lightly salted/seasoned}; our 5 yr old still enjoys avocados, especially cut up, plain with cottage cheese. Now's the perfect season for them.

(Remember teach them to like it while they're young cuz it's hard to camouflage

"green" later if they start learning they're not supposed to like vegetables.  ;)

What are the best sources for fatty acids for a child that young?

Sugar, dairy, grains and soy are all triggers for eczema.  Avoid as
much as possible.  Helichrysum is on oil that would be helpful.  Be
sure to dilute with fco.  And she needs essential fatty acids.

    My 17
month old little girl started breaking out in what I believe are
    eczema
patches about a month ago.  I have tried many oils and nothing
    seems
to be helping.  I'm thinking it could be a dairy allergy, but
    I'm not
sure.  Any ideas on what might work?  What to use and
    how
often?  It's sad to see that beautiful, soft baby skin turn
    bumpy,
    red, and flaky!
