Re: [Everything doTERRA] Terra Shield not working-HELP

I have use Terrishield in lower elevations and lower mountains around southern Utah with amazing success.  In fact we had people that initially gained interest in doTerra through their experience with TS.  The I went on a high adventure 50 miler with some scout in the high elevation Boulders in Central UT.  We were near 10,000 ft.  TerraSheild had difficulty there.  I had to reapply often, especially if it rained or I sweated (both happened often).  I ended up making a face and neck wrap to make coverage easier.  I didn't feel bad though, others were using high concentration deet products and the TS still did as good or better than deet.  The high altitude mosquitoes were just relentless and tough.  I wonder if their are different breeds of mosquito that are less effected by replants.

Make sure that coverage is neat, complete coverage, and remember that sweat and rain will dilute and effect TS's effectiveness.

Here is an article from recent everythingdoterra newsletter about terrasheild.

What you need to know.
Terrashield is formulated to the most efficient efficacy for repelling most misquotes, flies, nats and tics.  If you dilute it more for better coverage using a carrier oil, Terrashield will become ineffective.

The best way for effective coverage is to use a sprayer on the original bottle.  Helpful but not necessary.  After spraying on, wipe the length of your arms, your neck, ears, hands, and face.  Keep away from eyes.

Terrashields effective use can depend be affected by weather conditions (rain or drizzle will reduce effectiveness quicker), perspiration (perspiration will reduce the length of time terrashield is effective) and the thickness or density of insects.

If mosquitoes for instance are very thick, especially at higher altitudes or area's with lots of moister or heavy forest, Terrashield may need extra help.  Consider: Clothing that covers legs and arms.  A light weight neoprene face and neck mask or tee-shirt wrapped or mosquito netting around the face, head and neck. Terrashield

Terrashield will repel insects from touching area's of coverage, however, mosquitoes when heavy will often "buzz" the area's looking for somewhere to land.  Often for some, the bothersome "buzz" is almost as unpleasant as being landed on, stung or having blood "extracted".  Sometimes it takes practice learning to ignore the fly-by's, knowing that they will only buzz and not land on the skin.

A last resort for areas that have a thick population of bugs or mosquitoes is to spray your clothing with a commercial insect repellent.  Keep it away from your skin, especially product containing high percentages of deet, but spraying clothing will add to the effectiveness of keeping the little critters away from you.

In most recreational areas that might have irritating flying insects, terrashield is effective, long lasting, and a good smelling repellent that is completely safe to use.

I have a new IPC who joined specifically for something that would ward
off mosquitoes.  She is applying Terra Shield  neet with little
success.  Any ideas ????  More often?? More oil??? Thanks for any
ideas anyone has.  Why do some bodies seem to attract bugs more than
others?  PH balance??
