I put OnGuard on my toddler's feet and it helped when a cold was coming on.

My son has developed a runny nose today, and I'd like to give him OnGuard to kick his system into overdrive and get rid of a potential cold. anyone have advice for giving it to toddlers? Should I rub it on his tummy or something? I will put Breathe on him before bed, but does anyone else have advice?
