[Everything doTERRA] Why can't you use plastic spray bottles?

If I use a spray plastic bottle for the oils, is it contaminating the
oils? Or is it just because for instance a lemon oil, would eventually
(though I imagine a long time) eat through the plastic spray bottle?
Just wondering why everyone recommends using a glass spray bottle?
