Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: skin disease on a dog

If you can't stomach preparing the raw meat, try Addiction which is a raw, dehydrated meat dog food from New Zealand (organic).   It's a little pricey but in 5 years my dog has never needed to go to a vet so I figure it all evens out in the end financially.   In addition to the food and oils you may want to feed him some aloe vera gel too.  Poor thing must be really suffering.  My dog likes to sniff Frankincense.

The other thing I've seen work wonders for skin conditions and mange is feeding a raw diet, or a meaty bone diet. We just cleared up very advanced mange from my husband's German Shepherd by bringing him here to live with us and changing him to the meaty bone/raw meat diet we feed our dogs and following a bathing and medicating protocol we found online. It took months, but his skin is no longer red and irritated and his hair has all returned.

For any advanced condition, there isn't a simple treatment, nor do I believe there's a single one. Animals also have emotional roots to their problems. With our Shepherd, it was the trauma of my husband's divorce, then having the son he was most attached to move out. Moving here with both of them was part of the cure as well.

I agree with Heather but would also add that there is a good chance that what they are feeding is a strong contributing factor. I use http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/home.html which is available at many pet stores. Its not the only option but we have limited choices here. Most important is that it have a form of meat, i.e., lamb, chicken (not meal or by products) and limited grain and little added ingredients you cannot pronounce.
They can also add salmon oil to the food. I know vets really push Science Diet but I think its awful food. Before my health issues put an end to it I used to raise and show dogs, do agility, teach classes, and foster for the local rescue organization.  If they are feeling guilty about the extensive tests, I know many people who've had them done and gotten inconclusive results.

I am defiantly not Pat, but I have an idea for you.  We have a family
who gives their dog Frankinsence orally.  They were gone for a month
and his skin sores were really bad again and they reported within a
few days his skin was healed back up again.
