[Everything doTERRA] Using lemon to purify water in Africa

At a recent class I hosted we talked about how lemon can clean your
water. One of my friends is going to Africa to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro.
And she wants to take lemon with her to clean her water instead of the
clorox tablets. Is there a minimum number of drops she should put in
her 32 ounce water bottle to make sure it kills everything. She will
be using a Nalgene water bottle. Anyone familiar with these bottles? I
think they may be made of some kind of plastic...anyone know for sure?
should she still try to put lemon in it even if it is plasic?
