My 9 year old son had this specific issue - which is one of the main reasons
I started using doTERRA.  Breathe would usually stop his exercise induced
asthma within a minute or two.  I would either place it on his chest - or in
his hands and have him cup his hands over his mouth and inhale deeply
through his mouth several times.  As time went on - I learned to be
'pro-active' in my prevention methods, and I have since added Lime to what I
do, because he LOVES that oil.  I have a bottle mixed together for him with
a spray cap that he takes to school (with some FCO in it) - and he knows now
to go apply some or inhale some BEFORE he goes out to play - or before P.E.
He has only had 1 or two times he has called me needing help this year at
school - and both times it was because he either forgot his oils at home -
or forgot to put something on before hand.  I was still able to get it under
control.
Now, everyone is different.  Also, the causes may be different.  How are
they using it - when are they using it, when and how do they apply it and
where all come into play.  Lime was an amazing addition for my son, but I
have a friend who has found that her son really responds well to Melaluca.
They could try straight eucalyptus, or Peppermint or Rosemary or even Lemon.
Also, are there allergies associated here as well?  There are two times a
year that my son also suffers from allergies.  That is when we ramp up and
add Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint to his feet every morning and night (he
can't swallow pills yet) - and it helps us to manage those.  At times we may
need to add something else, - but that is the BEST part about the oils -
there is more than ONE solution - and it just takes time, patience, and a
little experimentation sometimes to find the right one.
I feel their pain - because for years I would try to breathe for my son!  It
is scary and painful and hard to see them struggle so much.  Thank heavens
for the blessings of doTERRA's essential oils!  (sorry for the epistle :-D)
