Re: [Everything doTERRA] Kids and cough

The sinus issues could be from living in the valley, as valleys tend to be less healthy places to live d/t the inversion keeping pollution in the air. I live in one along rivers here in western PA and almost everyone has sinus issues, though I understand it's not as bad now as when the steel mills were operating.

Also, yes, the less healthy food could be a contributing factor. Processed foods are higher in sugar, and that can lead to sinus problems. Is there any way that you could insist on a healthier diet when your kids are there, and help to insure it? The fact that it's there and at school that it's the worst suggests that it could be food related. Ask your doctor to have allergy tests run on them, and to have it include food allergies.

To help them with an oil solution, you could try DigestZen. It has peppermint, which is good for sinus and lung issues, as well as things like fennel and tarragon to promote healthier digestion. It seems to be helping my sinus issues since I started adding it to my Slim and Sassy water, and there was a report by someone on here a while ago that they had someone apply DigestZen topically to their sinuses with a nose that was all swollen from sinus issues and it cleared it up. Worth a try.

I guess I never thought of it.  My son who was 3 when we moved, I believe was too little to understand all that was going on and he is the one that has had the issues.  My daughter gets the stuffiness here and there and she is in school.  I am thinking it may also be that we lived up in the mountains where the air was clear and have moved to the Valley where there is an inversion all the time?  Or their eating habits.  I had to go to work full time and a close friend of mine is taking care of my kids during the day.  While they are there, they tend to eat unhealthy foods even though I provide them with healthy options.  That could also be a factor.
I will talk with their pediatrician next week about these factors.

thank you all for your suggestions.  They are greatly appreciated :)

Just a thought. Could there be any emotional issues involved in your move? Were your children upset about moving? Sometimes upsetting emotions can cause physical issues.
Like I said, it's just a thought.

Hello everyone,

My kids have been sick since we moved into our new place last August.
I swore it was mold because everytime they get something it is always
respitory.  I even went as far as doing an in home mold test.  It
didn't grow anything.   I have used the Oregano, Melaleuca, On Guard
or Lemon and that does not seem to do much for them.  They are up most
of the night coughing.  I give them honey before bed.
And to top it off, my 4 year old does not want me to touch his body
with the oils.  My 6 year old likes them and asks for them.

Any suggesstions?  I would really like to get my kids back to good
health.

Thank you for your suggesstions :)
