My name is kriss from california ventura & I have a 3 yr old & 5 yr old .... Their doctor told us all to get both the flu shot & swine flu vac.

I find it interesting that you say "Lots of health care providers are not getting the shot". Especially because I work in healthcare and I know that most of the UCDavis Campus has received the shot as well as the Kaiser personnel in Sacramento. I'm not sure where this information is coming form but all the information the health care community is receiving states get the shot, not necessarily for your health benefit but to stop the spread...this is a Pandemic. Stop it's spread to those who are most affected the kids...

Hi,
I always took my older kids to hear the heart beat and to the ultrasounds.

Hi there and CONGRATULATIONS!!

My son is 2y 7mos older than my daughter(who's birthday is today)so your daughter is a bit older and understands more. We let him help and tried to include him in everything. He went to all of the drs appts with us so he got to hear the heartbeat each time. When we went shopping for items we'd let him pick it out. For example, if we were buying blankets he got to chose which blankets we bought. He loved the idea of being a big brother and now that she's here he does a great job of helping take care of her.

Good luck,
Andrea

Ladies,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your help!!! - This is wonderful. I have so much to learn. This is a beautiful group! When I finish all of this I will be a Samurai shopper! - Yay!!!

In these trying times we have to live smart and definitely SHOP smart. The work on the front end to learn the systems and locate the codes is minimal in comparison to the savings for our families. I never thought I'd be a "coupon clipper." But, it's foolish to throw away money in these times. Each coupon has a cash value. Money. -What was I *thinking*???

Well, I am reformed, LOL. I am looking on the sites right now. Someone mentioned a friend's list on hotcouponworld.com - I'm not yet familiar but will check that out and ask if I might add you all once I figure out how the program works.

All of the information that you were so kind to share is fantastic!

Hugz,

Sheila

See Sonya,

THIS is what I am talking about, LOL! Where can we find these bloggers (I mean the ones worth researching - there are so many spammers out there. I'd like to avoid those).

Yup. I'm momto8kiddos there! My husband would have had to have gotten a second job long ago were it not for what I learned at hotcouponworld! I knew I was in the right place when they were talking about 80 cent peanut butter being a big pricey! LOL

Hi Ladies,

I created a Word doc with links to the various coupon sites that you all suggested. I wanted to upload it to our files area but, I didn't see how to do that. It would be nice if we had such an area to share these types of documents so that people don't have to "re-invent the wheel" each time the subject matter is discussed.

Sheila

(Moderator's note: Please send it to me at kirstie_mo at yahoo.com and I'll upload. The files area has been used for "spam" uploads in some groups, so uploading is restricted. Thanks!!)

My mom used to make us take treats to all the houses that we trick-or-treated at. So, the week of Halloween, we used to make "Pump-cakes", which are basically a pumpkin chocolate chip cup cake with whip cream on top.

We used to have a lot of fun deciding where we were going to go (we had to plan it out to have enough pump-cakes), and always enjoyed the looks on people's faces as we brought treats to them.

My most memorable was dressing as a baby when I was a parts driver for a dealership and I won the over 200 person costume contest, this year my daughter and her friend are going to be Santa and Ms. Claus and my triplets are going to be the three little elves and  the dog is going to be the reindeer, it should be great for pictures....
I'll send some if I get any...

That's funny! Madonna came on the scene when I was in high school/college, and I ALWAYS got, "you know who you look like?" Yup. Madonna. I had the crazy hair and kind of looked like her, though I wasn't into the lace gloves & such. Thank goodness both of us have changed significantly!

Caramel Apple Pie Crisp

Posted by: "Kirstie H" kirstie_mo@yahoo.com   kirstiehague

I got this recipe in the newsletter for the website where I buy my peanut butter, PBLoco.com. Most of us are peanut butter nuts, so it's worth it for us to buy several at a time online.

I am going to *guess* that if you use regular peanut butter and add a few chewy caramel candies to the mix, it'd come out about the same - recipes like this aren't as sensitive to slight ingredient changes as cookies and cakes - thankfully!

Serves 6-8

Ingredients

1/2 cup Quaker old fashioned oats
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
dash salt
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup P.B.Loco Caramel Apple Peanut Butter
6-10 Granny Smith apples
prepared pie crust

Preparation
1. Stir together oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt into a medium sized bowl. Add in butter and mix together.

2. Add P.B.Loco Caramel Apple Peanut Butter into the mixture and stir together.

3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pare, core and thinly slice apples. Place the apple slices into the pie crust until it's full.

4. Spread the mixture over the apples. Bake pie for 20-30 minutes.
