I found a couple of Oatmeal Cookie recipes with no refined sugar..

This one uses honey, maple syrup, and chocolate chips for sweetness:
http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=548992

This one actually has no sugar at all, the bananas and the dates (i'm sure you could use raisins) are the only sweet elements..
http://shmooedfood.blogspot.com/2006/07/banana-oatmeal-cookies.html

I'm definitely going to try the first recipe, not so sure about the second!

I remember dressing up as a Hobo when I was about 2 or 3. My parents
stuffed a pillow inside my shirt!

Having another child

I just found out that I am pregnant.  My husband and I have been trying for 2 1/2 years so we are excited.  Our daughter is 4yrs old (she will be 5 in february) and she has been dying to be a big sister.  So here is my question.  Do any of you have any ideas on how to make her feel like part of everything. Any do or don't advice.
 Rachel

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.

The first thing I thought of was green licorice twists. Some of the licorice packs now have multi-colored licorice. I bet if you took a couple of those, cut them up, tied them together, and put a little heat on them (like, put them in the oven for about 5 minutes), they'd melt together enough to hold as a stem.

I/we 6 live 45min west of Boston,  I just love that we can chat from all over the world and share our ideas thoughts and trials and joys of womanhood and alllllllllllll that means to each of us and all we do.
I would love to hear/share what works and what isn't working for you all in mainting our domestic responsibilities.  Cooking, cleaning, organizing -my consistant challenge, finding or creating a home for everything.  I love putting things where they belong.  I love feeling that I belong here. When my home isn't in order I don't feel my mind is in order either.
Love to hear how/what we do from each corner of womanhood.  Thanks I look forward to getting to know and help if ever I can whatever way possible.

Swine Flu Update

THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT RESTRICTING FREEDOM OF INFORMATION, AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN THE CDC.

ALERT: Special Swine Flu Update http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/10/21/Special-Swine-Flu-Update.aspx
Source: articles.mercola.com

Urgent and vital information you need to know about the massive amount of disinformation that the media has recently escalated as best demonstrated by 60 Minutes segment on Swine Flu which aired this past Sunday. Please be cautious and INFORMED about the risk to your children regarding this issue.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your post. Lots of health care providers are not getting this shot, hmmmm.

In my quest for information about this "pandemic" I found out that the defination of "pandemic" has been changed recently (It was all over the internet; could be WHO -World Health Org. or the National Archives of Medicine, maybe the CDC. I will be correlating this info for my website and am willing to share with anyone interested. Just respond to this email with contact info and I can send it out.

Hmmmm.....I work with autistic kids and their families and in my quest for information I got a whole new education. I love the internet because there is soooo much information out there - available for me, for my empowerment, whoo hoo!

I would also advise checking out the amazing websites providing information about Autism. There is a debate whether vaccinations which contain mercury are associated with Autism. Lots of good people out there providing information.

It's a great idea to google this and see the BIG controversy on this subject and then make an informed decision vs the huge marketing campaign based on fear. Should we? Shouldn't we? We are women who can do amazing things and we're really smart. We are the best advocates for our precious children.
