[Everything doTERRA] Re: pregnancy related nausea

Thank you Pat! I know pregnancy can be a touchy subject and I
appreciate your input. I have come to trust this company and these
oils, and perhaps myself a little bit more. : )
But it is good to know that I'm not suggesting an obvious no-no.
I was hoping to hear from the midwives in the group about
morning sickness being caused by liver issues, but at this point I'm
pretty sure she's willing try anything that has a
remote chance of helping.
I should mention that she is using digestzen and peppermint. She
does feel like they help and are probably the reason she is not
actually vomiting. She still feels pretty crummy though. She is also
drinking slim 'n sassy, though not the amount in the protocol for
weight loss. She just likes the flavor in her water. She adds 3-4
drops of slim 'n sassy and then another 3-4 drops of whatever citrus
she is in the mood for that day into 32oz of water and drinks 3 of
those every day. Should I tell her to stick with the lemon for now?

Also... my first experience with essential oils was the birth
assistant using peppermint to help with my nausea during labor with my
last baby. Ten months later I joined doterra and started using the
oils for almost every medical issue we encountered. Peppermint was the
first oil I used from my kit because I had a headache when I picked it
up. I used peppermint regularly for the next two years while nursing
my daughter. I also drank slim 'n sassy in water. When I read here a
few months ago that peppermint could diminish milk supply I got very
concerned. Then I remembered I had used it without knowing any better
and had no ill effects. My milk was quite abundant.
Based on my personal experience I would likely wait until nursing
was very well established and milk supply was ABUNDANT before using
peppermint. We do after all, have many wonderful oils, and I'm sure I
could find another oil that would work for whatever issue. However, I
would still warn others about possible nursing issues and not
recommend peppermint to immanently expectant, or nursing mothers. I
realize our bodies are all different and every situation is unique.
Just my experience.
