[Everything doTERRA] Persistent Yeast Infection while Nursing

Chelsea,

I work as a lactation consultant and am relatively new to the oils,
so I am familiar with the Diflucan. It works pretty well and is also
given to infants, but the dose needs to be high enough and long
enough to work. What may be missing is that you should also check
your baby--thrush/yeast can be passed between mom to baby and baby to
mom and BOTH should be treated simultaneously or it doesn't go
away. This is where we may need help with folks more versed in oils
because I only know the treatments typically recommended with
medications. You may want to check your baby's mouth on the inner
linings of the cheeks and tongue and down by the gums for any white
patches. This is typically treated with Nystatin drops in the mouth
(take a small amount out of the bottle and apply with a cotton
swab) Even if baby has no visible symptoms, he or she should be
treated. I should think you would be safe applying the anti-candida
oils to the bottoms of the baby's feet and reflex points for the
mouth. I am not sure about swabbing baby's mouth with them--would
like help with that one! I really feel for you and hope this helps!
