Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Difference in volumne of oil from different droppers

Hi Everyone!  Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
I got a bunch of glass stopper caps from Aroma Tools and have put them on
several of the oils we use everyday or more than once a day!  They work well for us!  I keep a bunch of oils in the kitchen.  That is where we make up our capsules.
I usually put a new stopper in with every new bottle but you probably don't have to.
One thing to be careful of though is not to ever turn the bottle upside down. You don't want to get the oils in the rubber part if that stopper.
Oils I have stoppers on include Slim &Sassy, Lemon, Meleleuca, Lemongrass, Lime and that us just to name a few!  :)

I've been using the droppers for several month now.  Here are some of
my observations.

I can't really speak to the Slim&Sassy dosage question.  Most people I
know adjust it to their taste anyway so if you feel more "dropper"
drops will be more effective, go for it.  I know there are
recommendations but I don't think it's an exact science?

The dropper material is a soft synthetic.  Many of the oils are stable
with it, but Slim&Sassy, OnGuard and Balance seem to react with the
material the fastest.  I have extra droppers in stock to replace them
as soon as I see any distortion in the dropper itself.

With Aromatouch and Breathe, the dropper tops react in some way with
these blends and cause the oils to discolor (even though the tops
themselves look stable).

I replaced my Frankincense after about 4 months, because it got too
sticky.

The dropper tops don't travel well.  Pressure changes and jostling
cause the oils to spend more time in contact with the tops.  The
original restricters and tightened caps travel much more securely.

I've found they work best sitting on my shelf at home.

I do VERY much like the control of dispensing the oil.  For many
topical applications I like that the drop is smaller.  So if I do need
less (particularly with the pricey oils) I feel the oils go a lot
further.  I'm still pretty concerned with wasting oil.  They feel
precious and valuable.  Maybe when I advance in rank, I will feel less
this way ;-).

I'd say if you choose to go the dropper route, just monitor the tops
closely.  A bag of replacements from Aromatools is pretty cheap.  I
bought a lot of the 5ml bottles with the dropper included.  I actually
use those mostly for dispensing around the home and making samples,
and use the bigger bottles for refilling. :)

Good luck!
