I have looked high and low for an answer to this question - from the
product instructions to the doTerra website to everything doTERRA &
everythingessential.me, and many more websites than I care to count -
and did not find a specific answer to the question. I did email the
doTerra directly, but my impatience has me posting this question on
the google group. My search was mainly for the tightening serum;
however, in hindsight I should have had the same question about the
anti-aging moisturizer, hydrating cream, Immortelle & Clear Skin. I've
been using the anti-aging products & Immortelle for the past month and
am pleased, although I'd sure like to see the age spots disappear!
The only instructions I find say to avoid the eyes, which I take to
mean the eyes themselves. But what about the eye lid and the tender
skin under the eyes? Most facial care products - especially tightening
serums - say to avoid the area around they eyes, and most facial care
product lines sell separate products for around the eyes.
I watched a PowerPoint with Dr. Hill & a female narrating, and even
they didn't say anything favorable or unfavorable about using the
products around the eyes. However, that Powerpoint had before & after
photos of the eyes after using both the tightening serum & anti-aging
moisturizer, which suggests to me that they are safe to use around the
eyes. However, I tend to be cautious, so I'd like to know why they are
safe to use around the eyes.
My search was mainly because I hadn't been using the products around
my eyes and, well, my bags & wrinkles were my proof that I needed to
use something there too! I have started using the products around my
eyes but I still want to make sure it's absolutely safe for around the
eyes because I don't want to harm that tender skin and make it age
more swiftly than it's aged over the past 10 years. Plus, one of my
eyes feels like there's a little something in it even though I know I
didn't get any product (or cotton) in my eye (it just so happens to be
the eye that has cellular damage in the cornea and I don't want to
harm that eye, I like to see!).
If you answer & say that the doTerra essential skin care products are
safe to use around the eyes, will you kindly tell me why they are safe
(besides that they are CPTG) - what kind of testing has doTerra done
to ensure their safety around the eyes?
I'll post doTerra's response when I get it. I appreciate your
feedback!
