Yes, this is for severe eczema too. You are only using about 1/2 cup salt in the water so it will not burn open skin. My daughter's skin had open wounds all over and the salts were so soothing. Dissolve the salt in the water before adding your daughter. Melaleuca would also be a great addition to keep bacteria and infection away.
