[Everything doTERRA] Can you lose sense of smell from using oils?

I had a client call me and ask me the above question. I have always
heard the opposite, that the oils can help if you have no sense of
smell. I wonder if he just has a bad repsiratory thing going on but
he said he didn't lose his sense of taste/smell until using the oils.
Any ideas??? He has been on antibiotics and just got out of the
hospital because of his diabetes and some heart stuff going on. Maybe
that is a reaction from some of the meds they have him on.
