Re: [Everything doTERRA] Oil making things worse?

I'd try switching out some of the oils. Perhaps ditch the geranium and basil oil for Balance on his feet. Do the frankincense on the crown of his head or down his spine.

Another idea is to eliminate one oil at a time to see if it's the "problem" oil. It took me a little while to figure it out, but I discovered that OnGuard was a problem oil for my son. Once I removed that and replaced it with wild orange and then later melissa, he's done so much better. The rosemary was just too stimulating for him.

My is almost 5 and has many traits of autism. I have done a special
diet called the GAPS diet with him, which is a step beyond gluten/
casein free that includes leaving other things out as well, and it has
made a tremendous difference for him. In about a month after beginning
a special diet for him he went from speaking a few words in a day to
speaking in complete sentences. I still feel there are some things
missing to help him, though.
In reading some information here and in the Modern Essentials book, I
have been using frankincense, geranium, and basil oil with him. Mostly
I dilute the oil and rub into his feet, especially around the big toe
area. He loves it and loves to smell the oils also. However, it seems
like after I use them for a few days his symptoms start to get worse.
He has more autistic stimming odd behaviors and acts like he is in
pain. When I stop using them for a day or two this behavior goes away.
Yet at the same time, it just feels good to me to be using these oils.
And he really likes them.  Because it feels so good to him, it seems
unlikely that he is allergic to them.
Is it possible that the oils are doing him good in the long run, but
they are just helping him get rid of something in his body or
triggering something that is painful for him? Is he just having some
kind of detox reaction perhaps? Has anyone had an experience like
this? Am I maybe just using them too much? Will these things go away
in time if I keep using the oils?
I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thanks!
