Becca -
Does she know what is triggering these episodes? Sometimes that helps in
knowing the right way to treat it. My son has struggled with Asthma since
he had RSV Pneumonia at 2. Mostly he struggles with exercise induced asthma
- but sometimes (at certain times of the year ), his allergies trigger
episodes, and so does cold air. I have had great success in using the
Breathe and Lime nightly on his chest and back (with FCO) - and it has been
a tremendous help. No more night coughing episodes! Another option is to
place those oils on the reflex points of the lungs and bronchial tubes.
Also, I took him to get muscle tested for certain allergens and that has
helped a ton in knowing what his 'triggers' were. Of course, we can't
eliminate everything, or control everything...but we can work with
preventative measures to help lessen the effects they may have on him. Many
times, I place the oils on him before he is going to Basketball practice or
games, as well as if it is one of those times of year - then we do it more
often.
I have also found that Frankincense is very helpful. Sometimes, I sit him
in front of the diffuser - with the oils in it (Frankincense, Cypress,
Eucalyptus, and Lime) and have him inhale through his mouth. When he does -
he holds the breath for a count of 5, then exhales and does it again, and do
it several times. I got this idea from my Mom who was suffering from a
nagging cough. It has been really helpful!
I also am trying to get his sinuses to clear up. My husband's family has a
history of bad sinus problems...and I see it is affecting his breathing as
well. His sinuses are constantly plugged! Still working on that one....
Hope this is somewhat helpful!

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] severe asthma
My mother in law suffers from severe asthma issues. It seems like at
least a couple times a year she gets really sick. I talked to her
today and she sounds horrible. Just wondering if anyone has specific
ways to use the oils for her once she gets this bad. I recommended
Breath with Lime on chest, neck, and feet. Is that right? I read a
post where someone said cinnamon and basil worked well. Also
something about oiling pulling, but no specifics on what oils they
used for that. Please help! Thanks a ton!
