I use 1/2 C baking soda in my wash for odor control and softening. I use it to scrub hard water areas, as a polish for stainless steel, on rashes or dampish body areas. Scrubs dentures, too. Almost any make your own cleaning supplies book or website has lots of uses for baking soda. So does the Arm and Hammer site. I am particular about non-aluminum contamination, but if you aren't, just buy the cheap stuff; it still works.
