[Everything doTERRA] H.S.P.

I have a good friend who’s 8 year old daughter was just diagnosed with H.S.P. – a blood auto-immune disorder.  A description is listed below.  The main problem, besides the rash, is her joints.  She can’t even go to dance because of how painful and swollen her joints are.  Each day is a little different, and some day’s are better than others.  It seems to me that the capillaries are compromised, and the danger of it affecting her kidneys has her parents very worried.  In most cases, they say it just has to run it’s course, and that maybe in a couple of months it will go away – but they will always be susceptible to further outbreaks throughout their lives.  They are open to any other alternatives, and are using some oils for the joint pain, but would love to hear any other thoughts on the matter. Thank You!!

Henoch-Schönlein Purpura (say: hen-awk shern-line purr-purr-ah) causes blood vessels to get inflamed (irritated and swollen). This inflammation is called vasculitis. It usually affects the small blood vessels in the skin (capillaries). It can also affect blood vessels in the bowel and the kidneys. When the blood vessels get inflamed, they can bleed into the skin, causing a rash that is called purpura. The intestines and the kidneys may also bleed. HSP causes a skin rash, pain in the joints (such as the knees and ankles) and stomach pain. The rash looks like small bruises or small reddish-purple spots. It's usually on the buttocks, around the elbows and on the legs. In rare cases, an abnormal folding of the bowel called intussusception (say: in-tuh-suh-sep-shun) can occur. This makes a blockage in your intestines that may need surgery.
