I am a new doterra consultant, and am a pharmacist. I have been
asked at the hospital in which I am employed to help a patient who
has hives everywhere due to an allergic reaction to Vancomycin. She
was being treated for MRSA. Modern Essentials lists peppermint and
melaleuca as primary for itching. Melaleuca is also listed as primary
for MRSA, as is peppermint. Lavender is also an option, and I loved
the profile for Roman chamomile, in that it "neutralizes
allergies".. The physician is open to anything the patient wants to
use topically. They are already treating her with 125 mg Solu-Medrol
IV every 8 hours, and hydroxyzine orally, but she is still pretty
miserable. I will need to keep it simple, so the family and nursing
staff can be consistent with the application. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
