My favorite Christmas Song is by Kenny Rogers and Wyonna Judd called "Mary did you know." There has been other groups to sing this song, but these two sings it with grace.

I love "baby its cold outside" by Dolly Parton and Rod Stewart,
and Dan Fogelberg's "same old lang syne" they play it on the radio with all the other xmas songs.

And Praise be to GOD for all he is all he has done and for allowing us to share our faith in Him with each other. I love hearing about the celebration of the jewish faith. thank you

However you say it, however you hybrid it, however you recognize it, it has to be with acceptance and respect and that is the most important character of December.

The symbols of each holiday or Holy Day are real to each of us.  The Menorah symbolizes the sign from G-d that the Consecrecation of the Second Temple of Jerushalem is sanctified with one drop of blessed oil that lasted 8 nights to declare it sacred again.  Latkes are the symbol of plenty and the oil we fry the latkes in and the jelly donuts is the symbol of the sacred oil.

Hanukkah marks yet another bloody, horrific yet wonderous victory of Jews standing with G-d, One G-d and 5000 Judah Maccabees took out 50,0000 Assyrians whose only mission was to destroy us and take away our lives if we did not give up our G-d.  Christmas means so much to so many in different ways whether actual, spiritual or religious.

And that is the way it should be.  Recognizing and remembering the symbols is critical to maintaning our spiritual and religious identity.

Power to the symbols!!!  Power to the people!!!  Power to stand tall and be who we all are when we want, where we want, how we want!!!!

And to the Hallmark Company, I say: Thanks for the shopping countdown!!!

>HanuMas... I like that! There's a political talk show host (who I don't listen to) who has a concept that I find amusing. He calls the season "RamaHanuKwanzMas" and has t-shirts & such. I'm sure that he is doing some mocking, but of course I'm free to take it as *I* intend, rather than as he intends. :)

In times like this, especially being a working mom, (I'm a working mom of 5), i have found that is most important to be sure you have at least an hour (or whatever feels right for you) of "down time" for yourself. cause if you do not feel cared for then your gonna feel overwhelmed by taking care of everyone else. Because who really takes care of Mom? It's just like on an airplane, in an emergency, you must put the oxygen mask on your self, before you can help anyone else! I hope this helps and I will try to take my own advise as well! LOL!

update on our family  ;-(

Hello,
I normally have a very great Christmas with my son. But this year it has been hard to be able to have food on our table. I took in his best friend as his Mom passed away. I am disabled from a forklift accident, and a month ago my husband walked out. I just had back surgery this past Tuesday, December the first! What a way to start December, huh? Gonna go before I write a book.....

So, if any of you pray, please keep our lil family in your prayers.

Laura
