Monday morning my 15 month old woke up with a fever of 102 and was very raspy in his voice and sounded like he needed to clear his throat. As the day wore on I used Breathe Respiratory Blend on his feet and chest, I used Eucalyptus to open his airways and create oxygen circulation, I used oregano,on his feet as well as peppermint to lower his fever. The only oil that seemed to be working was the peppermint for the fever. He continued to sound hoarse all day and was very lethargic. I kept trying the oils again and again and was very discouraged and devastated. I LOVE these oils! I'm emotionally invested in them because time after time they have worked for me and my family and I know they work! I know I can use these oils instead of synthetic drugs on my children knowing they are being healed naturally!! How could I teach, educate and claim that these oils worked when they were not seeming to have an effect on my son! Emotionally devastated was an understatement!! But as we were getting ready for bed that night he coughed for the first time all day. He coughed 3 times and IMMEDIATELY i knew he had croup. It was a barking cough and i just knew it. So I looked up the protocol in my Modern Essentials Bible:) and none of the oils i had been using were listed as the ones to help with croup!!! I was elated! No WONDER THEY Hadn't Been WORKING!! my husband just laughed at me. I finally used Frankincense which helps with inflammation and put it on his throat. I put lemon on his throat as well to soothe. It also stated to use marjoram and thyme. I didn't have those 2 oils but I do have Past Tense that has both marjoram and frankincense in it. I put it all over his back, feet and diffused Frankincense that night. By the next day fever gone!! No coughing and just a little bit of raspy voice. So I did end up taking him to the Dr to be safe. I love the oils but we live in a time of modern medicine which is equally a blessing! The Dr said he did have a little croup but wasn't to worried. He gave me a steroid prescription and I REALLY didn't want to use it. So after another night of past tense and frankincense and a steam shower my baby is better. Friends, I did not have to give him a steroid, a synthetic drug. I was able to have my baby be healed with ALL NATURAL oils. I feel so blessed. I really do!!!
