I had a table at a country fair this weekend. A little girl got stung
on the thumb by a wasp and started screaming, just as she and her
grandparents reached my table. Of course I ran over to see what was
wrong. The grandfather took the stinger out with a penknife, and in
the process took a little chunk out of her thumb. The poor girl was in
quite a state! I grabbed my Lavender and put a drop on the thumb. I
added a little FCO because she said it stung, and then a drop of
Melaleuca. She started calming down and the family group moved on. Two
hours later they came back to see me, all smiles. The grandparents
told me that by the time they reached the door after I applied the
oils (maybe 100 feet), it had stopped hurting. The little girl said
thank you to me, and ran over and gave me a big hug. I looked at her
thumb and there was NO SIGN of any wound. Where there had been quite a
hole where the stinger had come out, it was all healed over--you would
never know that she had been stung.
