gargle and swallow. It will be powerful, but it is a great way to 'warm' up
the vocal cords. They could also just put a drop of peppermint on their
finger and swab the back of the tongue. Preparing the throat before a
performance is extremely important (I hope they already do vocal warm up's
before hand). Lemon could also be added to the peppermint. Afterwards, I
have used Bergamot or On-Guard topically (use FCO) to help warm and heal the
throat. I have also used the Peppermint, Lemon, and On-Guard afterwards as
well. I believe you could treat vocal cords like 'sore muscles' - if they
are severely strained, you may want to use the suggestions from the book
about that type of thing.
Good Luck to your friend.

I have a friend that is in a band. After shows, their vocal cords get
strained from performing. Any ideas on what oils to use to help with
that?
