for my kids. Had another friend respond (that is not on this group)
and thought I'd share her thoughts to any others that might be
searching on this topic.
"Microwaving is a no no. It irradiates your food and you eat dead
food as
you do with any food that you purchase that has been irradiated. All
dead
food and no nutritional value. Microwaving also has other implications
and
Russia banned microwaves in excess of 20 years ago."
My Comment: ---> I went to a couple classes of Dr. Susan Lawton and
she emphasized the same thing regarding microwaves, saying, "don't put
anything into your mouth that has been in the microwave."
"Most diseases, arthritis, cancer, auto immune start from an
inflammation. I use ONE DROP ONLY of Clove Oil in our juice to prevent
inflammation..."
My Question: --->Clove would be pretty strong. Is this where the
citrus oils come into play? Are they strong enough to prevent
inflammation?
"There are articles currently out about laundry powders in the US
containing 1,4-dioxane."
My Comment: ---> I do make my own laundry soap using borax, washing
soda and water. Incredibly effective and CHEAP!!! Recipes are out
there on the internet.
"Watch out for foods that contain fructose or corn syrup and the like.
Stevia is about the only really safe sweetener that you can buy."
My Comment: ---> I believe that raw honey is also a safe sweetener.
My older boys are starting to read labels, and scoff when they see
corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup. Though they still like that
soda treat once a month! (Boys will be boys).
"Reverse osmosis is good BUT reverse osmosis takes everything out of
the
water including nutritional minerals so it is extremely important for
you to
make sure that the ENTIRE family is having a good source of minerals.
"
My Question/Comment: ---> I have heard this from a few different
sources. Does anyone know if there is veracity behind this? There
are all sorts of answers out there on the internet, but which one to
believe? I have read good things about a Berkey Filter (no relation
to me though). Anyone else use a Berkey filter? Right now we do use
"Real Salt" in our food preparation, so there are some minerals in
there, but probably not enough for a daily dose for each person.
Pony in Colorado, thank you for your comments. Good to hear about
your success with your son! No we don't live on a farm, but we do
live in what is considered a 'rural' area. Though population of
20,000 isn't really rural to me! We live in the middle of a
subdivision on a 1/3 acre.
Love to hear any other thoughts and comments!
Thank you all,
LaReita Berky
