[Everything doTERRA] Re: Serotonin Syndrome

This is a tough case and without seeing your friend and assessing the
level of agitation she is under and understanding what medication she
might be taking, I can only give general comments. However, having
said that I would encourage you to listen to Dr Hill's excellent
webinar on hormone health on builddoterra.com. In it (and I think
it's in Part 2) he talks about eliminating toxins from the body and
the importance of taking the LLW for vitamins, minerals and
antioxidants and then there are a group of essential oils which are
excellent for promoting glutathione levels as an active chelating
agent to assist in the elimination of toxins.

These oils are:

Grapefruit
Geranium
Helichrysum
Lemongrass
Rosemary
DigestZen

I would apply geranium over the liver and kidney area and rosemary
over the liver area as a decongestant to assist in the detox process.
Grapefruit is excellent for supporting glutathione levels. Personally
I have a routine every day of taking 10 drops Grapefruit, 8 drops
Lemon, 2 drops Clove, 2 drops Cinnamon and 3 drops Frankincense in
some juice or rice milk first thing in the morning. I love it and it
has really helped me get through some cold and flu onsets when
everyone around me is going down with bugs (it's early winter here in
Australia).

If my nervous system were in a very agitated and fragile state, I
would also consider having an Aroma Touch every week or at the very
least get my nearest and dearest to give me a foot rub with a blend of
fractionated coconut oil with lavender and frankincense.

If it were me doing a high-level detox I would want to give my liver
and kidneys as much support as possible. I would start by examining
my diet and eliminate all processed and refined foods, sugars, alcohol
etc, eating whole foods, vegetable juices are great, and make sure I
drank plenty of water with lemon slices - especially if I were doing
lots of exercise and hot yoga!

For calming down the nervous system, chamomile tea is excellent and
for a real treat, a warm bath with Serenity is wonderful.

I'm sorry I can't help your friend more specifically, but I hope these
comments might help her choose what is right for her and I'm sure
you'll be right there to give her a hand!
