Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: figuring tax...

Doterra charges tax on the retail total of the item (in other words, the price you would charge a retail customer) and this varies from city to city (at least in AZ). It does seem confusing especially if you live in bordering cities like us. Sometimes, we will have people from 4 different cities at our meetings but they almost always know the tax rate for their city. You will get the hang of it!

I'm glad you asked this question...I just had my first Dr. Mom party
this week and now that I get back to put the orders in I see that the
amounts I charged don't match the ones I gave my customers. The tax
will sometimes say 6.87% but when I plug that into my calculator I get
a different number than doTERRA does on the order. I ended up picking
up little amounts of slack here and there if I underquoted them. The
tax and shipping is complicated b/c you never really know how much
it's going to be until you plug it in...so I can't always give people
an exact number at the time of ordering. Also, it seems that the tax
varies from customer to customer...is this a state thing?

I'm sorry if I hijacked your thread, Brianna! I just have some of the
same questions as you and I hope someone can help us!
