Re: [Everything doTERRA] pregnant with terrible cold

I am sorry you have been super sick. I am 22 weeks pregnant and just came down with what felt like walking pneumonia. According to descriptions of it, that was it. I have been so scared because it came with a high fever that was terribly persistant, lasted almost 2 days. Breathe became one of my best friends-as it has in the past-and gave me more relief than anything! It happens to also have about 4 of the oils recommended for fevers too so I put it on my forehead, temples, neck, throat, chest, and back as often as I could. Eucalyptus too. I diffused it, cupped it in my hands and did my best to breathe. I didn't have all the oils from Pat's regimen but I did my own mixture of 3-4 Lemon, 2 Oregano (my stomach is sensative to too much of this) 3-4 melaleuca, 2 Onguard, and I kept being drawn to Frankincense so I added about 2 of that. I bathed in epsom salt with Frankincense, lavender, Breathe, & Eucalyptus. My ears hurt so I rubbed melaleuca & Lemon around them. I also put all of the above and any others i felt drawn to on my feet. I always use fresh chopped up garlic & capsules of cayenne with any illness as well.
I'll be honest, it is very scary to be sick when you're pregnant. I have lost 5 babies and this time around I couldn't decide whether it was riskier to take lots of oils & herbs, OTC meds, or admit myself to the hospital, or take nothing and deal with a fever and infection. I felt intuitively good about the oils although after 2 days of a fever I took a Tylenol. Can't say if it did much good though because I had already started sweating off the fever. I mostly did it because keeping up with the oils through the night is a little overwhelming at the already killer level of pregnancy and fever exhaustion. Perhaps someone has some advice for me on that. My body was also hurting so bad from all the violent coughing.
The last thing I did though that I will swear by is have my husband give me an aromatouch! That induced sweating like nothing else and I could feel immediate relief!!! Yea Aromatouch and Dr Hill for that creation!
Well, best of luck to you. I would say use the oils as much as you feel peaceful about. They are an amazing gift!

I am 17 weeks pregnant and have developed a horrible head cold.  I've
been using On Guard topically, but that's all so far.  I don't feel
like experimenting with all the oils until I get it right.  I have a
sore throat, head is full and feel just miserable.  I only have a
slight cough so far.  If anyone can recommend what is best to use and
the frequency for it I would greatly appreciate it.  I know the oils
are safe to use in pregnancy, but I'd like to know which ones are best
so I can knock this out and get back to my Christmas preparations.
Thanks!
