[Everything doTERRA] Re: figuring tax...

Taxes, taxes, taxes.....When you are ordering for a customer & it is
being shipped to their house you need to know their tax code & use
this with the "retail" price on the wholesale order sheet. One thing
you need to ask is if they live in the city or county. This will
change the amount of tax. If the zip code is the city zip but is the
same for the county where the person lives, and it does not come up
correctly with the order online--you need to call Corporate & tell
them this customer lives in the county. They can change it at corp. &
put in the first order. Any orders after this one should have county
tax only on the order.
We have dealt with this as we are doing several shows in different
cities & counties. When I go out of my district it is considered "out
of taxing area" on my sales tax form, so I tax my home tax that I pay.
If it is shipped to my house & I deliver it to them later, I tax my
home tax amount, the amount doTERRA taxes my shipments.
Hope this helps, to bad we don't all have states like Montana--NO
tax!! Pony

It does seem confusing especially if you live in bordering cities like us. Sometimes, we will have people from 4 different cities at our meetings but they almost always know the tax rate for their city. You will get the hang of it!
