Essential oils are 60-75% more potent than herbs. Why? The healing properties of the plant are the lifeblood of the plant. When you tromp through a field of peppermint that gorgeous smell is the plant attempting to repair itself. Those little oil sacs bursting and going to aid the plant. With herbs they dry the plants. The longer they are dried the more evaporates, flakes off, and disintegrates. With essential oils we harvest and quickly process them. doTERRA is very careful to select from where they are indigenous on the planet so they have the highest chemical constituency from plants that aren't genetically modified, no pesticides and no added fillers. In these times where we have countries that use dangerous pesticides without care and radiation leaking nuclear plants from tsunamis and other issues I feel comfortable that our essential oils are safe. I know they are effective because I used herbs for decades before I tried oils and I have never looked back.

I've spoken to an acquaintance about the oils, she currently uses herbal remedies and asked, "Is there comparisons about the results (of the oils) vs using the actual herbs?" I have explained that the oils can be used in conjunction with other natural health care practices and they aren't meant to entirely replace another natural health care approach that is working but they can be used as an additional avenue. I explained that is how I started out and now I tend to turn to the oils as my first option.
