RE: [Everything doTERRA] PLEASE SHARE HOW & HOW OFTEN YOU USE FENNEL FOR INCREASING BREAST MILK!

Hi Belinda,

Nurse as often as possible. That I also agree.

And here's the suggestion from the Essential Oils for Maternity book: To
stimulate lactation you can either use Fennel, Basil or Clary Sage. Mix 5-7
drops with 1 tablespoon carrier oil(FCO) and massage over breasts, lymph
areas above breasts and upper back along spine. Repeat daily for up to 10
days. Wash the oil off the nipple area before nursing. If you choose
ingestion, mix 2 drops of Fennel oil with 1 tsp. honey and swallow. Follow
with a glass of water. Repeat 3 to 5 times daily for up to 3 days.

Remember also to keep yourself hydrated. That was what I did when I was
nursing many years ago. I drank a lot of milk and water. Drink your
favorite healthy beverage often and before you know it, your supply outruns
the consumption! And please stop worrying, that's stress, it can adversely
affect your supply. Relax, the milk supply will come spontaneously. Cheers,
Nannette.

FOR INCREASING BREAST MILK!

My baby is barely 6 MO and not quite on solids. I've been struggling
with producing enough milk for the last couple of months and have been
supplementing pumped breast milk (from after he was first born). I've
run out of that and really want to only nurse without having to do the
extra. I've got the fennel now but am not sure how often to apply it
each day and what the best way to take it is (internally or
topically). I've been doing it topically (and some internal) 3x/day
the last couple of days but haven't seen results yet. I'm guessing it
takes a couple of days to kick in but I've heard of others using basil
and having pretty immediate results. Also I know not to use it past 10
days (b/c of diuretic issues) but does that mean if you're using
excessive amounts of it? I'm worried it will temporarily help but I
want to have enough milk until he turns 1 YO so can I use it long term
in moderation? So again please share how you've used it and how often.
Thanks!
