Re: [Everything doTERRA] Frustrated Headache

I agree with Rob, we need to play and see what works for us. Lavender doesn't work for me in our allergy formula either, it stuffs me up, but if I substitute Wild Orange for it, I get great relief. Melaleuca works well for them too, I suspect because it's antifungal and fights my mold and mildew allergies.

For headaches, I usually recommend either Peppermint alone or Deep Blue, though now that I have my Past Tense roll on, I love that as well. It works great for my husband's neck and shoulder pain and for my sinus headaches. You can actually feel it absorb and spread, pretty neat stuff! I highly recommend getting that on your next order and trying it out!

Through trial and error, you'll find your best oils and blends. You can use kinesiology (muscle testing) to discover what's best for you for any condition too.

Everyone is different and how they react to different oils is different.  For me, a simple application of peppermint is the best thing for my headaches.  We have a family in our group that LOVES paste tense and goes through 3 bottles a month.  They have practically built their team selling people on paste tense.  Paste Tense does not work as well as peppermint on me, and for some paste tense aggravates headaches and migraines.  Bottom line is that you need to find the best oil or blend for you.  What works best for Betty will not necessarily work for Brenda.

There are many oils that reduce inflammation, others that calm the mind or calm the restless spirit. Some oxygenate the blood, others cross the blood brain barrier, reduce stressors or relieve sinus pressure.  Keep doing your research, find oils that help you and the kind of headache you have.  I would start with single oils first.  Don't try to put together your own blends at first.  Lavender is NOT an oil that agrees with me very well, if I used it in a blend like you described, it wouldnt sit very well with me. Also use the oils aromatically and topically for headaches.

You have a great attitude, use the oils knowing they will work. ;-)

I just started using Doterra Oils and last night had a headache. I was
excited actually so I could use them and see them work. However i did
all my reasearch and used the recommended oils 2 drops each of
Lavender, Frankincense, deep blue, and peppermint Rubbed on the
temples over forehead, and on the back of the neck. The only oil
recommended that I didn't have was wintergreen. Anyway I also tried a
cool compress on the back of neck. After 45 minutes it only got worse
and I finally took some ibuprofen. I was so excited for them to work
and now Im just a little frustrated. Is there something  i am doing
wrong I want to be able to know how to do them so I can give relief to
my kids when they are hurting.
