This is a reply from doTERRA I got back in January 2010 about this very subject.  Hopefully it clarifies some things for you all.

 

Within 30 days of receipt--any unopened product may be returned for a full refund to the original form of payment. (Shipping is not generally refunded)

Opened product may be returned for full credit to your doTERRA account

 

31 days to 12 months of receipt--unopened product may be returned for a 90% refund to the member's doTERRA account. No shipping is refunded on these orders.

Opened product cannot be returned after 30 days.

 

Customers returning product to consultants will follow the same return policy and the consultant is responsible for returning the product to the company within 10 days of receiving the return.

Excessive returns may be deemed an abuse of doTERRA's return policy and may result in suspension of return privileges and/or consultantship.

Damaged or incorrect shipments of products will not be subject to fees.

Non PV items cannot be returned. This includes products purchased with AutoShip Rewards points, and the $50 introductory packet (enrollment fee).

 

Diffusers, Alpha CRS, EOmega, and Microplex VM are excluded from this return policy.

I believe doTERRA guarentees their supplement trio. If you take it for 30 days and don't notice any change, you can send the empty bottles for your money back.

 

As for the oils themselves, I would think they wouldn't accept it returned because you found out lavender works better on your headaches instead of peppermint. There's no way to know the body chemistry and how it'll respond. It's not doTERRA's fault that I can't handle any type of peppermint oil products without a milk supply drop. Instead, my husband and baby benefit from the oils with peppermint. More than likely, you can use the oil somewhere else.

 

If there's something WRONG with the oil bottle, doTERRA will replace it. Like, if your myrrh bottle crystalizes or your lemon bottle is excessively cloudy.
