Sounds like his cortisol levels have flipped. (You are supposed to produce the most by 8am, use half by noon and the rest by midnight, resulting in sleep around 10pm) Has he had his level checked via a saliva test? I would suggest peppermint to strengthen the glands and theoretically balance.

I think I need some help with this individual. I can usually help people with sleep problems. I give them lavender first, then serenity, and if needed, I pull out sandalwood. But I have a young man with a severe sleep disorder. He was sent home from his mission because of it. He can't sleep until about 5:00 am. No meds have worked for him, and none of my 3 oil choices.
