RE: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Eucalyptus

Here’s another ‘opinion’.  In the book “Advanced Aromatherapy” by Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt, Ph.D. – it states that there are over 100 different species of Eucalyptus.  Quoting the book, “…each producing a different essential oil.  The oils from the leaves of Eucalyptus globules, for example, differ significantly from the oils distilled from Eucalyptus radiata.  These differ substantially from the oils of Eucalyptus dives, and Eucalyptus citiodora.  Each of these varieties differs in chemical composition, which in turn results in different uses for aromatherapy.”

As you can see – not all Eucalyptus is equal – therefore, what you hear about one type of Eucalyptus can be significantly different that what you would hear about another variety. – BUT unless we are all chemists or botanists – how would we know??

It also states in the book that there are no know ‘contraindications’ with Eucalyptus radiate (which is the variety of doTERRA’s), where some of the others that he mentions in his book have some safety guidelines like not using in children under 10, etc.

I appreciate doTERRA’s attention to detail, and when they say that they use the best scientists to get the oils the above information becomes even more important.  I appreciate doTERRA’s efforts on our behalf.   As with everything – moderation in all things.  J

Good Luck and hope this helps!

I add one, sometimes two drops of oil and a little agave. And I love the water hot.
