Re: [Everything doTERRA] mastitis, low milk production, yeast infection

Hey Chelsea,

I'd probably wake her up and feed her once during the night to help increase milk production - at least until you're through this. Good luck!

I was just reading about a remedy someone did for a plugged duct and I really should have hopped on here 3 weeks ago when I started getting all this stuff! I had fantastic milk supply and a great nursing baby but at 3 days old she was sleeping 7 hours in the night and I ended up with a plugged duct which I didn't realize was a big deal until it turned into full blown mastitis, fevers, red streaks and all!
I have tried SO many things, even antibiotics to my dismay, and in the last 3 days I finally have been able to get infection to come out but I still have a mass and my milk is super minimal. We are also dealing with yeast on me, so far no sign of it in my baby thank heaven! The biggest problem now is a huge itchy rash on my unplugged side, the mass that is left on the plugged side, and low milk supply as a result of not nursing and just pumping during the antibiotics.
Here is what I am currently doing:
epsom salt compresses, castor oil massages in the shower, oregano/melaleuca/frankincense with coconut oil on breasts AND reflex points a few times a day, GX assist 2 times a day, 4 PB assists in the nighttime, fenugreek & blessed thistle, gentian violet, LLW and a few other supps. I think that is it. My baby still likes to sleep for a good 5 hours during 1 stretch in the night and I am in dilemma if I should wake her to feed her to increase milk or just let her do her thing.
Any ideas? I have also been doing some emotional work because I am sure there are emotions connected to it all!
Thanks for any wisdom!
Chelsea
