Re: [Everything doTERRA] Deaf Doterra Resources

Good morning.
Yesterday, I spoke with a lady who has a 17 year old son who is deaf and blind.  He is very smart and teachable through his hands.  She is very interested in the oils.  Any recommendations on how she could introduce him to the oils?  I'm sure his heightened sense of smell would be helpful to him too.

Any thoughts appreciated.  Thanks,
Janyce

I'm a deaf doTERRA IPC... and yes, I won't deny the amount of webinars out there is frustrating to somebody who can't hear them!! I don't sign fluently, I wear hearing aids and communicate with lipreading.

My upline has been super helpful - she would send me power points and other information that can be found in the back office. She would also make sure that I'm seated up front for her doTERRA events so I can be close to the speaker to read lips more easily. I later found out that when Dr. Hill and Emily Wright came for presentations, she asked them not to move around so much or cover their mouth as they were lecturing. Very helpful.

I groan every time I hear people talking about webinars or teleseminars... I'd love the information. Right now this site, books, and blogs are my friends in feeding me doTERRA information. I also spent extensive amount of time reading through older posts. I copied anything that helped me into a document folder.

The books I found helpful are:
Modern Essentials - a must have. ;)
Essential Oils Business Book by Christina Calisto-Winslow
Essential Oils for Maternity (I'm pregnant right now)
Frankincense - Dr. Hill's Essential Oil Library Volume #1
Energy Medicine - a workbook by Tamalu Watkins - this book really gave me a confidence boost in my home doctoring.

Due to finances, these are books/authors that have caught my eye, but I haven't purchased
Emotional Healing with Essential Oils by Daniel MacDonald
Karol K. Truman
Nicole Stevens
Joanna Albrecht
Connie Boucher's Super Simple Wellness
David Stewart
I hope that helps, I sure understand your friend's frustration. If she's looking for just business and marketing, I would focus on Christina's book. It doesn't mention doTERRA specifically, but how to build any kind of essential oil business.

Blessings,
Leah

Hey folks,  I have a friend who is Deaf and might be interested in becoming and IPC but all my favorite websites just have webinars or training phone calls with no written minutes.  I have taken notes myself for lots of these videos but for me to type it all up or sign myself interpreting them would take FOREVER.  Are there any Deaf IPCs out there who can help me?  Or do you know of good written resources?  She is out of state so I can't sit down with her one on one.

She has a lot of questions about the business and how to market yourself.  There is a lot of written information on the oils.
Thanks for your help.
Emily
