I have heard that the oils will eat the plastic in the nebulizer. And I know for sure any of them with citrus oils in them will for sure!

My friend wants to try some oils for her sons allergies and for the common cold....she doesn't want to spend the money on getting a diffuser for them. My question is, she wants to know if she can put the oils in her sons nebulizer and just let the oils go into the air that way. Has anyone tried this, would it damage the nebulizer? I am thinking that the nebulizer would go through the oils so fast and it wouldn't stay on very long or long enough to make it worth it..... --
