I agree about not using bleach in the drain. In fact it so toxic to the whole environment I refuse to use it all! A quarter cup of baking soda, 2-4 drops lemon oil in and around there'll owed with a half cup vinegar sanitizes drains and helps keep them open.
When fruit flies are already present if you put a small amount if wine in a dish on the counter they will be attracted to it and drown. Sweet pickle juice might work too.
