Susan, I hope your friend is feeling better. I have been on Metformin for a few months now, and actually started taking it right around the same time as I started using doTERRA oils. I had some GI problems with the Metformin at first. The thing I found out with Metformin, is that you really HAVE to have the extended release, or it is a nightmare! I found that out in the first few days, and switched over. It still took a while for my digestive system to get used to, but the slow release is so much easier on my system, in general. I take Wild Orange every day, with no problem, but I didn't really start using the orange until a few weeks after my body had assimilated to the Metformin, because that happened to be when I was introduced to doTERRA. I think I probably did one round of the detox (10 day Gx Assist, & 5 day PB assist), before I really started using the Wild Orange. It just happened to work out that way for me. Everybody's bodies are different, but maybe hers couldn't handle the Metformin & EO at the same time? I hope that her doctor will find something that works for her, (ask her if she was taking the extended release). I know it takes a while to work up to the full dosage, so I think slowly introducing one drug or oil at a time would make a big difference.
