Hello, my name is Sue, I live in the UK and I have 10 children :) age range from 24years to 8 mths, and 3 grandchildren.
I am quite concerned that some seem to be using adult strength vicks on their small children. Its none of my business and i dont want to butt in but we have a baby vicks here. I have been told by docs and it is also on the labels of the jars/ bottles that it should not be used under a certian age. Eucalyptis oil can be very strong as well - we have a baby version here.
I'm sorry if I am offending anyone.
Sue H

I agree. Our doctor said NO vick's for baby under 2 yrs of age b/c the menthol can make a baby suffocate.

Vicks is far from the only product on the market that is not good for our children that we use everyday. There are tons of stuff we take for granted, such as toothpaste. My son has canker sores and his doctor told me to change toothpaste to a natural toothpaste because the SLS and triclosan can make canker sores worse. He also told me it would be difficult to find toothpaste without it. I started doing research and learned a lot after that. Such as Johnson and Johnson Baby shampoo has Formaldehyde. Apparently the companies are not required to disclose all ingredients.

I have both allergies and asthma to the point where I get hospitalized for my asthma when I have problems. I use this on myself and my children ranging in ages (2-8) and have never had a problem.  When they were infants I used the vicks vapor rub for infants. I dont ever put anything on their chest or mine just because it is ssssooo much more effective on the feet.  Just wanted to reassure moms. Sometimes I think we get too hung up in modern things where things we have done forever all of the sudden are bad or things we havent done are now good.  I am a believer and if it keeps my kids from not sleeping or suffering I am all for it.
